Os candidatos ao título de Campeão de Marcas sao a espanhola SEAT e a alema BMW.
Os candidatos ao título de Campeão de Pilotos sao o italiano Gabriele Tarquini (que corre em SEAT), o frances Yvan Muller (que corre em SEAT) e o brasileiro Augusto Farfus (que corre em BMW).
Participam tambem os portugueses Tiago Monteiro num SEAT Leon TDI (Diesel) da equipa oficial da marca espanhola e André Couto num SEAT Leon TFSI (Gasolina) da equipa privada SunRed Engineeering, sendo que este ultimo portugues é originario de Macau ao tempo em que estava sob administraçao portuguesa tendo sido o primeiro piloto portugues a vencer o GP de Macau no ano 2000.
